Today I’m thrilled to announce that I joined Lacework as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Looking back at my last few roles, from MongoDB to TripActions and now Lacework, there’s one common thread linking each of these industry disruptors: a commitment to building strong, customer-focused, and loved products.
Having started my career with a Management Information Systems (MIS) and CSC degree in Manufacturing IT at Cisco, I gained an intuitiveness early on around user challenges and needs that has carried into my transition as a marketer. I’m a problem solver at heart, looking at situations with an eye for making things more efficient. This same approach has been the foundation for creating predictable, scalable systems to build pipeline as a marketer.
I’ve been fortunate enough to work with or be an advisor to many companies in rapid growth, including DocuSign, Loom, StackRox (acquired by Red Hat), G2, Redpanda Data, and Styra. Like MongoDB and TripActions, companies also shared a common virtue as problem solvers, bringing innovative products to market that actually address the challenges customers face on a daily basis. In my early days here at Lacework, I’ve met so many enthusiastic people across the marketing, sales, product, operations, and engineering teams. Their excitement for helping customers understand and respond to the threats facing their business is contagious.
The cloud security market may be a crowded space, but I couldn’t be more confident in my decision to join Lacework. I truly believe this place has the potential to fundamentally change cloud security forever. We recognize how hard it is to defend a growing cloud environment, especially when using disparate security tools. The cloud is too dynamic, threats are ever evolving, teams (security, operations, developers) are too siloed, and it can slow down innovation. Lacework changes all of that with a data-driven approach to security.
As I look toward the future, I’m excited to put my experience to use with the GTM organization building pipeline and closing revenue to take advantage of the opportunity ahead. As our tech organization evolves our leading cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) solution, our customer-centric approach will help us anticipate the ever-changing needs of our customers and the dynamic world of cloud security. Backed by a world-class marketing engine, Lacework will be unstoppable.
