UKAS grants Extension to Scope to CCL Forensics
CCL Forensics Limited, the UK's leading provider of digital forensics analysis services, has been granted an Extension to Scope (ETS) to its ISO17025:2017 and Forensic Science Regulator’s Code of Practice and Conduct schedule of accreditation by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
The extension includes the accredited use of a host of additional third-party tools and methods to capture, preserve, extract and analyse data from computers and digital storage devices and mobile phones.
CCL Forensics’ use of Paladin, Raptor, Nuix, Blacklight, Griffeye, Axiom, X-Ways, Ribbon and internally-developed scripts are just some of the tools that can now be used within newly-documented methods that meet the criteria of UKAS’ stringent auditing process.

What is an ETS?
A scope (or schedule) is the official document that outlines the activities for which the accredited body is granted accreditation. UKAS offer an extension to scope service for those who wish to add to/change their range of accredited activities. Changes can include:
- Addition of new conformity assessment activities (tests, inspections, calibrations, areas of certification, etc.)
- Addition of new locations (UK or overseas)
- Expansion into a new area of accreditation.
