Sysdig achieves AWS DevSecOps specialization within AWS DevOps Competency

Sysdig is pleased to announce that it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) DevOps Competency for development, security, and operations (DevSecOps). This designation highlights the value provided by the Sysdig platform to AWS customers to achieve their DevSecOps goals. As a key partner for the ecosystem, Sysdig collaborates closely with AWS and its customers to enhance the protection of cloud infrastructure and applications against continuously evolving security threats.

Focusing on security early in the DevOps lifecycle not only reduces threats and security costs, but also leads to faster and more efficient release cycles. The core of DevSecOps practices is to embed security at the core of the application delivery pipeline to quickly provide contextual feedback during the build phase itself.

What is the AWS Competency Program?

AWS is known to strive for making available scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions for startups to global enterprises. To enable the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS started the AWS Competency Program to identify its best Technology Partners that follow AWS best practices in addition to the industry benchmarks. By being one of the few solutions achieving the AWS DevOps Competency specially focused on DevSecOps, Sysdig has demonstrated its commitment to AWS by building a well-architected and deeply integrated security solution that has been customized for the best interests of AWS customers. Note that Sysdig already has achieved AWS competency statuses for Security and Containers in the past. Sysdig has proven these competencies by:

  • Working with AWS on rigorous APN competency qualification processes
  • Demonstrating AWS business history
  • Validating multiple customer references

AWS Customers of various sizes from startups to enterprises have thus successfully leveraged the Sysdig platform, including Sysdig Secure and Sysdig Monitor, to meet the challenges targeted by these specific AWS competencies.

To quote Knox Anderson, Vice President of Product at Sysdig –

“This validation from AWS recognizes the Sysdig platform as a value-added security solution that can help companies achieve their business transformation goals by leveraging the speed, breadth of services, and rapid innovation that AWS provides.”

What does it mean for customers?

Choosing a solution to secure cloud and containers means evaluating and balancing multiple decision criteria such as:

  • Ecosystem compatibility
  • Budgetary constraints
  • Needs to features fit
  • Identifying most prominent security risks for the organization
  • Time to value
  • Buy-in from various teams including Cloud Infrastructure, Governance and Compliance, Incident Response, Applications, and Security.

Sysdig, besides being vouched for by AWS as an important DevSecOps partner, has a proven track record in helping customers and prospects meet their established criteria for securing cloud and containers.

Sysdig provides security built on an open-source stack that includes Falco and Cloud Custodian, open standards for runtime threat detection, cloud compliance, and response. At Sysdig, we provide deep visibility to run apps confidently on Amazon Web Services, including Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS, and AWS Fargate.

Today’s shared responsibility model means that the customers can take additional and complementary steps to protect their users, services, applications and data on top of what AWS offers for monitoring, security and compliance efforts. Sysdig Secure complements AWS security by providing a unified experience for:

  • Cloud workload protection platform [CWPP]
    • Vulnerability management and scanning
    • Runtime security for cloud, hosts and containers
