The July 16 summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin will set the agenda and tone for the relationship between U.S. and Russia during the Trump presidency and cybersecurity must be a major topic of conversation. Out of the many contentious issues that could be broached during the summit (such as Syria, Ukraine and NATO), cybersecurity has the potential to be an area where common ground can be reached. Discussions around the other topics, unfortunately, are unlikely to yield headway toward a preferred U.S. outcome.
