If Google Chrome’s new tab button is opening the Ya.ru page or search requests are being redirected to Yandex.ru, then you may have the SafeWeb Google Chrome extension installed. When the SafeWeb extension is installed it will modify your new tab button so that it automatically opens the Ya.ru home page.
